Plaza’s focus is you — the person who showed up to hang out online, not a product to monetize.

Plaza is a text-only place to make new connections around the world: talk to someone new without video, without wondering if they’re a bot, and without the awkwardness of having nothing to say.

I’m not interested in your money or your personal data. I want a welcoming corner of the internet where strangers can meet as people.

I’ve long looked for somewhere to hang out online that was purely about conversation — no camera pressure, no bot anxiety, no dating-app energy. Plaza tries to check those boxes. That’s why a selfie is required for your profile picture: a real face, checked in your browser, so you know there’s a human on the other side.

It may not be for everyone. I hope a few people can call it home — a small digital third place, more cozy internet café than feed.
